Make the rain your own.
Desktop wallpaper
- Open Matrix Rain Omni for Mac and use the ship to open settings.
- In Use on your Mac, choose Use as wallpaper.
- Open Display & power options to choose frame rate, clarity, and display coverage. Desktop animation pauses on battery by default; choose Animate on battery when offered, or change the pause option.
Keep Omni running for desktop animation. Closing the window leaves its menu-bar controls available. Stop Wallpaper or Quit restores your ordinary desktop.
Music and microphone response
- Open Audio response and choose Device audio or Microphone.
- Press Start audio response and approve the macOS permission.
- For Device audio, play sound in another app. For Microphone, make sound near your selected input.
Input stays active until Stop or Quit, including while the main window is hidden. If Device audio is denied, allow Omni in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording (called Screen Recording on some macOS versions), then quit and reopen Omni. Microphone access has its own permission in the same privacy settings.
Some protected audio sources may withhold sound. Stop audio response and check normal playback. Omni keeps your chosen source until you change it; it never switches to the microphone automatically.
Rain, Cloud, and Auto
Use Rain settings to select a flow pattern and transform into Cloud. Enable Auto scenes when you want appearance changes to follow its chosen schedule. Audio response changes motion and colors; enable Auto separately for automatic formation and density changes.
Export an image or video
Open Use on your Mac → High-resolution export. Choose the appearance, resolution, frame rate, and clip length, then select Export still or Export video. Use the macOS save dialog to choose a new destination filename. Exports are silent and rendered separately from your live scene.
